Hi, I’m Katrina Bergen — an artist, designer, and curator with a background in advertising and visual arts. I graduated from Montclair State University with a B.A. in Advertising and a minor in Visual Arts, where I developed a strong foundation in both strategy and creative expression.
My Path in Youth Development & Marketing
My professional journey began on the field as a coach with Soccer Shots, where I worked with children ages 2–8 to build confidence, teamwork, and a love for the game. Over time, I transitioned into the Assistant Director role, where I blended my background in education and creativity with marketing responsibilities—crafting email campaigns, managing social media, and planning outreach to grow programs and connect with families.
Marketing & Communications Experience
Beyond Soccer Shots, I’ve worked with organizations where storytelling and marketing came together to engage communities:
- Write On Sports (Internship): Developed social media campaigns, wrote press releases, and supported event planning to highlight student achievements in sports writing and journalism.
- Fire Me Up Studio (Internship): Curated events and seasonal displays, built out content calendars, and managed social media campaigns to connect with the local art community.
Through these roles, I’ve gained hands-on experience in digital marketing, community engagement, and creative brand storytelling across both nonprofit and small business settings.
Creative Approach
Whether I’m designing, curating, or developing campaigns, my focus is on creating work that feels authentic, intentional, and connected to its audience. I enjoy merging creative storytelling with strategic planning, ensuring that every project is both visually engaging and impactful.
Beyond the Studio
When I’m not designing or directing campaigns, you’ll probably find me covered in clay. As a pottery wheel instructor, I love helping students tap into their creativity and discover the joy of working with their hands. Outside the studio, I’m equally passionate about movement and strength—I spend much of my time in the gym and exploring personal training, where discipline and creativity intersect in a different way.
